Hi, I’m Jeremiah Dammons. I’m a cinematic arts major at UMBC, born and raised in Howard County, Maryland. For years since I was a child I’ve always had a huge fascination with movies. From watching Star Wars to Marvel to Transformers films my interest started to grow and grow. Watching TV series also helped me to grow my fascination with filmmaking. 

 

 I didn’t know that I wanted to do filmmaking until I was a senior in high school taking a filmmaking class. As soon as I started taking this course, I immediately fell in love with this artwork. To grow more in my craft. I started volunteering at my church and doing camera work for their Sunday services, where I grew and learned more about how to use cameras and how to operate the equipment. Whether it was on a tripod, handheld, or gimbal, I knew how to operate it. This opened the door for me to start an internship and gain more of a leadership role as one of their video directors.

 

This allowed me to connect my creative path with my faith, which is what inspires me as an artist, and that’s something I want to explore in the future of my career.
